Francisca Blanquier Lessa Bastos launched Francisca Bastos Design in 1988, establishing herself in Ipanema, the trend setting corner of Rio de Janeiro, and quickly became one of Brazil’s top jewelry designers.
Born in Rio, but of Italian and French descent, Francisca’s global vision is expressed through her contemporary designs. A graduate from Santa Ursula University’s School of Architecture, Francisca went on to Jewelry Design by enrolling in advanced design courses and earning herself a post-graduate degree in Jewelry Design in PUC-Rio.
All of Francisca’s jewelry is hand-made in 18kt gold, and her designs are characterized by the use of an array of precious stones, carefully selected by the designer herself.
With more than 20 years of experience, Francisca is a DeBeers Awards finalist and her jewelry is featured in prestigious fashion publications and world-renowned events. As an artist, her pieces have been exhibited in the United States, France, Monaco, England, Peru and Canada.
Twice a year, Francisca debuts her new and exclusive collections, which are presented to her international clientele and media in special events at her own atelier.
